Jewelry Care

When the Alissa B jewelry is not being worn, it is encouraged to hang earrings on an earring tree or some type of jewelry box/display to prevent tangling/bending.  Or, small ziplock plastic bags are a great addition/alternative to prevent tarnishing.

While almost all metals tarnish, some are more conducive to do so in more humid climates. Preserving them in ziplock bags as mentioned above can help and the following practices are great for cleaning:

Sterling Silver

Sterling silver—simply polish them gently with a polishing cloth.

Copper

Copper- ketchup works wonders! A toothbrush or papertowel will suffice, and best to polish before the super shiny copper turns to a darker brass finish (though many preferred the vintage brass look).  The sooner its polished the easier to bring back to looking like a shiny penny!

Vermeil (14kt Gold Fill)

It is best to wear vermeil jewelry with care so that the finish lasts longer (its 14kt gold over sterling silver). For all jewelry, its best to avoid excessive water, especially salt water or chlorine (ideal to remove before swimming!) and direct sunlight.  Of course most all our gemstones and products are natural, and can handle such elements.  Applying perfumes, hair spray, or chemical products, however should be before the jewelry so as to prevent discoloration.
